Wow, I can’t believe we are already in week 4 of the One Room Challenge! Time flies when you’re having fun ;)
Last week, I shared a lot of updates with you guys! If you recall, we got a LOT accomplished. We purchased the sofa, dining chairs, vintage rug, and also narrowed down some great options for lighting. This week was spent narrowing our lighting selections even further, as well as exploring coffee tables and window treatments.
This week, we’ve been working on finding some great window treatments that their landlord will approve. If you read last week’s post, you’ll recall that their landlord wants to ensure the window treatments will be durable for future tenants.
We definitely want to spruce these up from the current blinds that they have. I’ve always loved paisley, but the yellow is too warm with all of that warm wood trim.
I’d like to keep the look of the roman blinds, but we need some new fabric that is a little less warm and a little more modern (yet timeless!) in pattern. We’re still sourcing a good pattern & material for this, but my go-to is usually Tonic Living. We should have our selections narrowed down this week.
I’m excited to share that Miranda and Taylor want to move forward with a mid-century tulip dining table like the one displayed in our initial design concept! We're ordering this beauty from LexMod.
To keep the mid-century modern look, we’re probably going to go with these beautiful Conkling Armchairs from AllModern. Aren’t they beautiful? We will likely be ordering these this week!
Out of the lighting options provided in last week's post, here are the options Miranda and Taylor have narrowed the selection down to. They’re all so great – it will be hard to decide!
We’re also close to making a decision on a coffee table! My absolute favorite is the Ceni Lagoon Ottoman from Article – the color is just drop dead gorgeous! What I like about this option is that it will allow them to kick their feet up when relaxing and watching a movie (especially since they didn’t get their chaise lounge). However, Miranda and Taylor are still concerned about the potential for Nova (their kitty) to scratch it. If you check out week 1’s blog post, you’ll see what I mean ;)
With that being said, they are leaning towards the shadowbox coffee table from Urban Outfitters, but we’ll see. Which one is your favorite? Be sure to leave a comment below on the bottom of this blog.
Check back next week for week 5 of the One Room Challenge! By week 6, we will have a completed space worthy of a #decorandafter – stay tuned!
